The Marmot Mountain Works Bellevue, Washington store was opened in the Fall of 1984 as a “classic” specialty backpacking, climbing, XC, and ski mountaineering shop. Although we stock lots of outdoor clothing, we are first and foremost a technical shop specializing in the finest quality, sometimes hard to find, and/or esoteric equipment available. We hand pick all of the products in the store, test what we choose, and we use what we sell. Our knowledgeable sales people, buyers, and managers, are avid outdoor people with wide ranging interests that include rock climbing, ice climbing, mountaineering, skiing, backpacking, hiking. We don't just carry Marmot products we stock the best equipment available from Arcteryx, Mountain Hardwear, Patagonia, Black Diamond, and others. We offer the best selection of Gore-tex® rain-wear and climbing gear in Washington, and the best selection of plastic climbing, technical leather boots, telemark and ski mountaineering equipment in the country. A significant amount of our business is mail order to customers all around the country. The Marmot store is only 1/2 hour from the airport, and is commonly visited by people connecting through Seattle on the way to climb in Alaska, Canada, Nepal, and China.
